back
It’s been quite a while since I’ve used this space. Spending several (many? it’s been debated) years struggling with some severe mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as the process of figuring out my transness, and then finally in the last two years starting my transition and getting sober meant that it has been a long time since I’ve been able to do anything I felt was worth writing about here.
It’s terrifying, in all honesty, to try and get back what was an integral part of my life after having let it fall by the wayside as other things took precedence. As mortally pressing as they might’ve been, and as needed as that time to concentrate on getting healthy and stabilizing my mental health was, time away feels debilitating, and I hope that having somewhere to post about progress and new work will be motivating in some manner.
Anyway, I finally started unpacking some of my old work in the new studio space and found this one that I genuinely have no memory of making but that I am truly (newly) obsessed with. It’s from the last woodfiring I did, in upstate New York in 2022.
I’ll be updating the website fairly thoroughly soon so keep an eye out, lots of new and old work gonna be dropping (primarily ceramics as that seems to be the only part of my practice I have managed to stick with throughout the chaos of the last 4 or so years).
cool cool good talk no one is reading this anyway lmao byeee
